Financial aid is generally disbursed the week prior to the start of classes. You should come to Illinois with sufficient funds to purchase books, supplies, and any other items necessary to begin the semester, even if you are expecting financial aid or plan to work on campus.
Financial aid is credited to your student account and is applied against University charges. If there are excess financial aid funds after the University charges are paid in full, a refund will be generated that can be used to pay for other costs associated with your education. To expedite the receipt of this refund, you should establish and maintain direct deposit to your personal checking or savings account.
It is your responsibility to ensure that OSFA has your correct address as it is vital information for distribution of funds. For more information, see Notification.
