University of Illinois Scholarships

Our university awards over 1,500 scholarships annually based on a variety of factors, including academic achievement, talent, leadership, geographical location, field of study, and financial need.

Scholarship Database

Academic departments, colleges, and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions award many of our university merit-based scholarships. You’re encouraged to search our scholarship database to review what’s available.

Application procedures vary, so be sure to follow the described procedures and apply by the dates indicated. Note that for most of these scholarships, your Undergraduate Application for Admission is the only thing you need to complete to be considered.

OSFA Scholarships

Our office also awards a number of scholarships. These scholarships generally have a demonstrated financial need requirement but may also have other requirements, including academic achievement, high school or college grades, ACT or SAT test scores, geographic (hometown or high school) location, or field of study.

To be fully considered for all awards, you should submit a FAFSA and complete the Undergraduate Scholarship Supplement Form. This form collects supplemental information that’s used in the selection of recipients for restricted scholarship funds. It’s kept for 5 years and so should only be completed once.
