To apply for a Parent PLUS Loan or Graduate PLUS loan, students will need to locate the ‘PLUS Loan Request’ card in UI-Integrate Self-Service.
The PLUS Loan Request card may not be initially viewable on the dashboard. If students do not see the card, they will want to click on the ‘View All Cards’ option at the top right.

Once viewable, select the correct aid year from the drop down.

Undergraduate Students
Dependent undergraduate students will see the maximum amount they can borrow in a Parent PLUS loan. Students may enter less than the maximum amount that is listed.
Please note, the Parent PLUS Loan is a credit-based loan, and final eligibility is contingent upon a credit check by the Department of Education. Graduate Students
Graduate students, if eligible to apply for a Graduate PLUS loan, will see the maximum amount they can request. Note, Graduate PLUS loans is a credit-based loan, and final eligibility is contingent upon a credit check by the Department of Education.

Reducing or Increasing An Accepted Loan
To reduce a Parent PLUS Loan after it has been processed, the parent borrower must complete the PLUS Cancel Reduce Form for the appropriate aid year: https://www.osfa.illinois.edu/forms/
To reduce a Graduate PLUS Loan, the student must navigate to their Financial Aid Notification in Self-Service and choose the option to “Request Changes.” Enter the request in the second text box.
To request an INCREASE in a Parent PLUS Loan or Graduate PLUS Loan, students must choose to “Request Changes” from the Financial Aid Notification. Please note, for a Parent PLUS Loan, the parent borrower must also submit another PLUS Loan application from www.studentaid.gov.
